New Single ‘Neon Dreams’ Out Now

Friends, it’s time for some new music!

Neon Dreams has just gone live on streaming services and Bandcamp. I'd love if you could give it a listen, save it to your library and add it to a playlist. Every bit of support helps.

This track started life as an opener for a DJ set I played last winter. Neon Dreams is a wobbly, lo-fi jam calling to mind the moment that city streets begin to quiet as people move indoors for the night. The sounds of people and music muffled through walls, spilling out into the streets.

For me this track evokes a specific memory of when I was living in Copenhagen. I’d had a few beers in the park and had a magical “2 pints, no dinner” walk home. The sun had just set, the weather was fresh, my mood was untouchable and everything was beautiful.

I stumbled into a street called Jægersborggade (do not ask me to pronounce this). It’s a beautiful, mixed use street, lined with 5 story apartment buildings that have restaurants, cafes and shops on the ground floor. How every street in every city should be, in my opinion. But Jægersborggade is an especially scenic version that I have since learned tends to be included in most Copenhagen travel guides. The shops are all dug in just below street level, with the warm lights washing up into the street joined by the muffled hum of people and music filling the air.

That’s what I think about when I play this song. But the lo-fi vibes also give me that dense East Asian city vibe too. The specifics aren’t actually important. It’s just meant to evoke a vibe and I hope it’s a vibe you like.
